Andrologist / Urologist
Associate Professor Alexander Timev, MD, PhD, is a specialist in urology with extensive clinical, academic and teaching experience. His professional interests include uro-oncology, endoscopic and minimally invasive urological surgery, while in recent years he has focused increasingly on the diagnosis and treatment of male infertility.
He graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2007 and obtained his specialist qualification in urology in 2013. In the same year, he was awarded a PhD after defending his doctoral thesis on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of simple and complex cystic kidney lesions.
He is currently a chief assistant at the Department of Urology at Alexandrovska University Hospital and the Department of Urology at the Medical University of Sofia. He trained under Professor Petar Kolev Panchev, the former National Consultant in Transplantation and one of Bulgaria's leading specialists in urooncology.
Associate Professor Timev continuously advances his professional expertise through specialised training in interventional ultrasound, endoscopic, laparoscopic and robot-assisted urological surgery, urodynamic studies and contemporary treatment approaches for urological diseases. In recent years, his clinical practice has become increasingly focused on the diagnosis and treatment of male infertility.
He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in Bulgarian and international peer-reviewed journals.
